I had a salad for breakfast. I harvested the Marvel of the 4 Seasons Lettuce from the iDOO hydroponics deck. There was just enough. Unlike the previous harvest, I pulled the whole pod and replaced it with another Marvel. In a paper bowl, I cut up the leaves, added some sweet peppers, a green onion I harvested from the QYO hydroponic deck, two cut-up strips of bacon, some crispy fried onion and jalapeno in lieu of croutons, and sprinkled the result with red wine vinegar.
For lunch, I had this mix in the crock pot overnight. I'm calling it Swine Swill. Merlot wine, boneless pork chop, whole (very small) red potatoes, sweet peas, green beans, corn, onion, minced garlic, carrots, mixed sweet peppers, Worcestershire sauce, vegetable broth, and V8 vegetable juice. Where possible, the ingredients were "No Salt Added" or "Reduced Sodium." I ate a single bowl, and put up the rest for leftovers, next to my leftover chili.
I went back to the hydroponic gardens to harvest the Red Bok Choy and Red Pak Choi. They're the same plant, just two of maybe six different names for Chinese cabbage. This one started with heating Sesame Oil and Chili Oil, adding pork chops sliced in thin strips, then onion, mixed sweet peppers, the bok/pak choi/choy, a can of stir-fry mixed vegetables, some Thai Jasmine Rice, and finally, pineapple tidbits in their own juice. It was excellent.
