I received these AeroGarden Plug Replacements (6 each) today. I didn't buy them as replacements. I bought them to be the sleeves into which I could insert level indicators.

It was first necessary to cut the barrel in half and discard the bottom. Then the indicator would slide into place very neatly. As most of my indicators are too long for the gardens, It was also necessary to cut the indicators in half.

I bought these as certain other efforts* to make sleeves or baskets for level indicators were less than satisfactory. As an aside, all six were cut not with a saw but with a serrated steak knife. So were the indicators. All my current gardens are now equipped with these.

* Among the "certain other efforts" was an adaptation of individual green onion pods from Etsy. Why use them? For one thing, some pods were destroyed by the onion growing too large to be confined. Once the green basket was removed, the upper portion was perfect for level detectors. I'd have bought more, but Liger Labs no longer makes them.

Other efforts included attempts to drill through a pod hole cover. It was less than ideal.
